  • DECIFER: DEpression and Citalopram In First Episode Recovery.
    Interventional study. This study seeks to examine the effectiveness of citalopram added to treatment with any oral or injectable second-generation antipsychotic plus standardized psychoeducation in first episode schizophrenia patients. Ages 15-40. Location in Boston, MA.
  • Community Implementation of KEEP.
    Interventional study. The primary goal of this study is to examine the fidelity and generalization of parenting effects of the KEEP foster parent training intervention as it is being delivered within a child welfare system of care by a community mental health provider. Ages 5-12. Location in San Diego, CA.
  • Prevention of Relapse & Recurrence of Bipolar Depression.
    Interventional study. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the long-term use of combined antidepressant plus mood stabilizer therapy is superior to mood stabilizer therapy alone in preventing the relapse and recurrence of bipolar depression. Ages 18 and over. Locations in Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA.
  • Providing Voluntary HIV Counseling and Testing Plus Linkage to Care in Uganda.
    Interventional study. This study will compare the effectiveness of brief versus detailed HIV counseling sessions, paired with referrals to either HIV-specific medical care or usual care, in reducing HIV risk behavior and in increasing treatment adherence in Uganda. Ages 18 and over. Location in Kampala, Uganda.
  • Effectiveness of HIV/Sexually Transmitted Infection Training for Physicians in China.
    Interventional study. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of a physician training program, the Ai Shi Zi program, in improving HIV/sexually transmitted infection diagnosis, treatment, and management by Chinese physicians and in reducing the number of subsequent infections in their patients. Ages 18-45. Location in Hefei, China.
  • Effectiveness of Integrating Prenatal Care in Reducing HIV/STDs Among Young Pregnant Women.
    Interventional study. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of CenteringPregnancy Plus, a group prenatal care treatment program with an HIV/sexually transmitted disease prevention component, in reducing health risk behaviors in pregnant teenagers seeking services at Community Health Centers in the New York metropolitan area. Ages 14-21. Locations in Cheshire, CT; New Haven, CT; New York, NY.
  • STD Risk Reduction for Heterosexual Methamphetamine Users.
    Interventional study. This study will evaluate the effectiveness of a sexual risk reduction intervention in reducing sexual risk behavior in HIV uninfected, heterosexual people who use methamphetamine. Ages 18 and over. Location in San Diego, CA.
  • Effect of Family-Based Prevention on Children of Depressed Parents.
    Interventional study. This study will test the Protecting Families Program, a 10-week prevention program for depressed parents and their pre-teenage children, by comparing the effectiveness of the program versus parent training alone. Ages 9 and over. Location in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Preventing Anxiety Disorders in Youth.
    Interventional study. This study will determine the effectiveness of a cognitive behavioral therapy program in preventing anxiety disorders in at-risk children. Ages 8-12. Location in Baltimore, MD.
